Riordan and Gow - it's all over

I've lost count of the number of articles that have appeared on this site when it looked as though moves for one or the other of these two players was on, and then off, and then on again.

Riordan looked a certainty in January and then during the summer when Brendan Flood admitted he was a player we were still keen to sign, and then there was Gow. Again we'd been linked in January but he got as far as the Turf this summer before deciding it was too far away from home and his beloved Ibrox and did a runner back to Scotland saying he wanted to stay where he was.

Finally yesterday both these were finally put to bed when the two players moved from the Old Firm clubs. Riordan has returned to Hibs for a cut price fee, way below the figure we were reported to have offered, whilst Gow has done the strangest of U-turns and will now be playing his football at the over priced half a ground.

I always thought it was just a fortnight in the summer when Blackpool was full of Glaswegians but that's obviously not the case as Gow seems to think it is home from home. I think he'll get a shock when he runs out for his debut looking across at the Gene Kelly - it's not quite Ibrox is it?

Riordan's not coming to Burnley, Gow's not coming to Burnley, the window's closed and that's that for these two particular players.
