We confirmed the pre-contract signing from the MLS of Richards back in August. We'd signed him whilst he was playing with New York Red Bulls but he then went on to play for Vancouver Whitecaps until the end of the 2012 MLS season.
He duly arrived at Burnley and completed the formalities of his signing once the transfer window opened this week and that left us waiting to receive international clearance for him from the United States Soccer Federation.
That's now arrived meaning he's free to play for us and it is looking likely that he could be included in tomorrow's squad for the cup tie at Oakwell with a number of our players expected to be ruled out with injury.
