Reserves out of bottom two

The Clarets second string looked dead and buried and all set for a much less impressive league next season but have given themselves a chance by winning three of their last four games.

That means they have left bottom club Bury behind and have caught Oldham Athletic on points. With two games in hand we were behind them only on goals scored following our latest win at Barnsley last week.

Oldham though have been beaten tonight 2-0 at home to Tranmere and now go behind us on goal difference and with three games more played. It will be Bury and either Oldham or ourselves for the drop but as for the champions it is now wide open and any one of the eight teams above us could still take the title.

For us though we now have a chance to pull away from the Latics when we take on Rotherham on the Turf tomorrow night with a 7:00 p.m. kick off. There’s only Eriksson’s long ball boys on the television so if you can get down to the Turf do so and give them some support.
