Reserves off

Last updated : 03 February 2004 By Tony Scholes

All indications from West Yorkshire were suggesting that the match would not be in any danger but that was not the case and a pitch inspection at 4:00 p.m. put an end to any hope of it going ahead after the rain started to fall during the afternoon.

This is a second successive postponement for the Clarets’ second string following the calling off of the home game against Preston last week with the Turf Moor pitch frozen and we will have to wait another fifteen days before the next fixture which is at home to Sheffield United.

It was the only scheduled fixture tonight and we remain next to bottom but should Barnsley avoid defeat at Huddersfield tomorrow afternoon we will be back in bottom place.

Tomorrow’s fixtures are:

Huddersfield Town v Barnsley
Hull City v Sheffield Wednesday
Rotherham United v Preston North End
Sheffield United v Walsall
Stoke City v Tranmere Rovers
