Dean West - providing the experience in the back four
A win tonight would see the Clarets climb above 3rd Division Huddersfield and out of the bottom two although Hull who were in touch have now moved out of our immediate reach after picking up four points since we last played.

Again Stan gives all his FA Cup subs from Saturday a run out, none of them for one reason or another played for long at Millwall. Dean West also comes in from the cold as the only experience in a young back four but there are no places for either Matt O’Neill or Joel Pilkington.

The lack of strikers at the club is highlighted by the fact that there are none in tonight’s squad with youngsters Alex Taylor and Rhys Carpenter both out injured.

The Clarets will line up:

Paul Rachubka, Dean West, Gary Carter, Ryan Townsend, Danny Pitham, Marc Pugh, Paul Weller, Bradley Orr, Tom Ince, Luke Chadwick, Alan Moore. Subs: Michael Hale, Darrell Avery, Joe Booth.

Sheffield United, currently in 4th place, send an inexperienced team of virtual unknowns outside the steel city. The one exception is Steve Jagielka, a recent signing from Shrewsbury and the brother of first team player Phil. The only other player in their squad over the age of 20 is Ashley Sestanovich.

Their team is:

Tom Lindley, Adrian Harper, Evan Horwood, Steve Jagielka, Chris Robertson, Dominic Roma, Ashley Sestanovich, Ian Ross, Billy Sharp, Jonathan Forte, Kevan Hurst. Subs: Colin Marrison, Rory Beanes, Ryan Gyaki, Daniel Platel, Travis Binnion.
