Reserves kick off with a win

Last updated : 24 July 2002 By Tony Scholes

After an even start the Clarets got on top and once in front anything other than a win was never likely. Despite making a number of changes at half time, including the introduction of Nigel Gleghorn, the home side could not stem the tide and the Clarets went on to win the game 6-2.

Robert Grimes, who lost most of last season through injury, scored the first goal and the others were scored by Joel Pilkington (2), Mark Rasmussen (pen), Damian Hindle and Matthew O’Neill.
