Reserves in action

Last updated : 24 November 2004 By Tony Scholes

Last week’s draw against Stockport was enough to lift the Clarets off the bottom, we are now above both Carlisle and Shrewsbury on goal difference.

Our opponents, Macclesfield, are currently fifth but fell to a 4-1 defeat against Manchester United. We remain the only side to have taken a point from the Premiership club.

The Clarets will as always be fielding a young team although coach again Mark Yates will be back on the pitch this week rather than in the dug out.

Burnley will line up: Mark Crossley, Joel Pilkington, Neal Trotman, Chris McCann, Paul Scott, Marc Pugh, Amadou Sanokho, Mark Yates, Joe Booth, Matt O'Neill, Alex Taylor. Subs: Michael Hale, Martin Reilly, Nicky Platt, Darrell Avery, Kyle Lafferty.

Macclesfield's team includes Tommy Rooney, Wayn'es cousin and their full team is: Deasy, Briscoe, Smart, Jones, Carr, Teague, Brackenbridge, Morgan, Rooney, Owens, Vernon. Subs: Cooke, Bailey, Reid, Cropper, Brightwell.

We will have news of the game later this evening.
