Reserves called off

Is it a Mansfield fan climbing the floodlight pylon or is it former Liverpool boss Roy Evans in a 'Gizza Job' plea?
But this afternoon’s reserve team game has been called off because of a man on the roof (or floodlight pylon).

With Tranmere leading Mansfield 2-0 on Saturday one Manfield supporter decided to climb one of the Prenton Park floodlight pylons before jumping onto the Cowshed Stand roof. The ground had to be evacuated and subsequently the game was abandoned.

Although there is nothing to play for the idiot has probably won because with his side trailing by two goals they not get another opportunity to win their last away game before relegation with it having been re-scheduled for tomorrow evening.

This means that Tranmere have now called off today’s reserve team game against the Clarets to make sure the Prenton Park pitch is now in top condition for this first team fixture. It will now be played this coming Friday with a 2:00 p.m. kick off.

This will now be the Clarets last reserve game of the season with this week’s home game against Bury coming first on Wednesday.

In what can only be described as another kick in the teeth for Burnley’s loyal fans this game will also kick off at 2:00 p.m. With points desperately needed to avoid relegation the club have shown that they don’t really give a damn by scheduling the game at a time when most fans won’t be able to get there. The last afternoon game saw 47 in attendance.

They boast that your season ticket gives you free admission to home reserve games, a lot of use that is when they play them when most season ticket holders are at work.
