Reading game set for inspection

The pitch is fine but there are problems with the stands following yesterday's snow fall and the subsequent sub zero temperatures over night.

Therefore an inspection will be carried out at 1:00 p.m. to determine whether the game against the league leaders can go ahead.

The news from the club reads:

"There is to be an inspection of the stands and the surrounding areas at Turf Moor at 1:00p.m. prior to the Championship game between Burnley and Reading.

"The pitch is playable and has been passed fit, however with ice in the stands and surrounding areas of the James Hargreaves and Jimmy McIlroy Stands, there is a spectator safety issue.

"The problem is that if those stands have to be closed, there isn't the capacity elsewhere to accommodate the supporters from those areas.

"Work is being done to clear the ice and the situation will be reviewed again at 1:00 p.m."
