Rangers back in for Lafferty

Kyle Lafferty
Now the BBC have reported that Rangers are back in for him with Walter Smith having made an offer that is, according to them, in excess of £3 million. It was thought that with Kenny Miller and Andrius Velicka both Ibrox bound that their interest in Lafferty might have faded but that doesn't appear to be the case.

There's no suggestion of any player(s) involved in the deal. Previously Alan Gow's name had been mentioned as part of any offer from Rangers. It seems unlikely that Burnley would accept this, but certainly does show the interest from Rangers has not gone and it could still be a three horse race for the player who is desperate to get out of Turf Moor.

Coyle's words that no offer had reached our valuation means Burnley have no intention of selling him on the cheap, but it does look only a matter of time before someone makes the offer that sees him get his wish and a move. Whether that be Wolves or one of the Old Firm remains to be seen.
