The three games we will play are on Saturday 19th July and the following Monday and Wednesday and as suspected the first of those three will be against Queen of the South at their Palmerston Park ground in Dumfries.
The game has been confirmed by Queens boss Gordon Chisholm who took over the club last summer and has guided them to their first ever Scottish FA Cup Final following their remarkable 4-3 semi-final win against Aberdeen.
A former Sunderland, Hibs, Dundee and Partick Thistle player, Chisholm has just been away to Spain with his squad as they prepare for the final and he confirmed the date and said: "I had a couple of things to sort out when I got back from Spain, but I've spoken to Owen Coyle and everything's OK."
Three games in Scotland and two also arranged for the week after at Accrington Stanley and Bradford City with a home game likely on Saturday 2nd August. To add to that rumours also persist that we are going to play pre-season games in America and Ireland with the latter suggested to be against Glentoran. There's certainly no confirmation of those and Owen Coyle did say that pre-season games would be arranged to make them accessible to the fans which should surely rule out the former.
