Michael Duff and Kyle Lafferty were both in the starting line up in Vaduz in a game that saw Leeds United striker David Healy grab his second international hat trick in just over six months.

The Irish were 1-0 up at half time and just a few minutes into the first half, as is usually the case, Lawrie Sanchez brought Kyle off and on this occasion replaced him with Warren Feeney who signed for Cardiff on Thursday of this week.

Healy's third goal allowed Steve Jones to get on, he replaced the goalscorer for the last seven minutes of the game whilst Michael Duff, now very much a regular in the Northern Ireland side, played the full ninety minutes.

Earlier in the day Danny Coyne was in goal for Wales in the historic game against the Republic of Ireland at Croke Park. Danny led the Welsh before the game singing their National Language in his native tongue and was soon in action after kick off, saving well from Damien Duff, before being beaten when Stephen Ireland took the ball round him to slot home for the only goal of the game.

All four of them will now be hoping to add to their caps on Wednesday when the two countries return home with Northern Ireland entertaining Sweden at Windsor Park and Wales taking on San Marino at the Millennium Stadium.
