Pulis of Plymouth

Pulis was somewhat strangely dismissed by Stoke at the end of June for not making full use of the international transfer market, this after almost three years there having followed Steve Cotterill.

Plymouth have been in talks with him since the departure of Williamson and yesterday all the contractual issues at Stoke were cleared up, allowing him to take over this morning in readiness for their game at Southampton tomorrow.

He’s been in management for over thirteen years, first taking over the Bournemouth from Harry Redknapp in the summer of 1992. Four years at Gillingham followed before short spells with Bristol City and Portsmouth. He was out of management for two years after Portsmouth before arriving at Stoke in 2002.

Plymouth
are the first club in our division to change manager this season, I suspect they won’t be the last.
