Pugh goes to Luton

Pugh joined Shrewsbury from Bury in the summer of last year but so far this season he's struggled to get into the first team. Manager Paul Simpson said: "We had an opportunity for Marc Pugh to go out on an emergency loan to Luton.

"They need players and Pughey needs to get games so I felt the move was right for everybody. Pughey is getting frustrated as he's not involved at the moment so the change of scenery will do him the world of good.

"Hopefully he will get a month of football and then we will see at the end of that month whether or not he's ready to come back and do a job for us. The main thing is that if all goes to play he will get some first team football and he will come back to us better for that."

Luton boss Mick Harford announced the signing and said: "We're delighted to have Marc with us. He's desperate to play regular first team football. He's a winger with terrific pace, and we feel that will be a big asset to us over the next month."

Marc started 28 games for the Shrews last season but this season has been limited to just two substitute appearances, one on the league at Morecambe and in the Johnstone Paints Trophy at Exeter.
