Prosser takes charge

If his performance is anything like that on his only previous visit to Turf Moor then we should have few problems. He was the referee for our 5-2 win against Walsall early last season and was hardly noticeable as he allowed the game to flow and made great use of advantage wherever possible.

He showed just one yellow card, and that to a Walsall player, so a repeat of that would go down well. It is his only Burnley game since he became a league referee.

This season he is averaging just under four yellow cards per game with 57 in 16 games. He has issued 23 of those 57 to home team players and 34 to away team players.

To add to that there have been three red cards and these have gone to Youssef Safri of Coventry in a 1-0 home win against Crystal Palace, Northampton goalkeeper Lee Harper in a 2-0 defeat at Swindon and Halifax Town's Andy Farrell in a 2-0 LDV Vans Trophy defeat at Chesterfield.

He has courted controversy on one occasion though this season and that was at the First Division match between Brighton and Sheffield United at the Withdean Stadium. Brighton led 2-0 but the Blades came back to win it 4-2 with the two last goals coming from two penalties in the last four minutes.

Both spot kicks were hotly disputed by Brighton and manager Steve Coppell had some harsh words to direct Mr. Prosser's way after the game.

Hopefully though he will have as good a game tomorrow as he had at the Turf last season.
