Preston game live on BBC

It was something of a surprise, given the opposition during August, that we weren't selected for live screening on either the BBC or Sky. We were on standby for the home game against Nottingham Forest for the opening game but thankfully, given it would have moved it forward to Friday, we were overlooked.

This is certainly the first time, to my knowledge, that a Burnley league game will have been shown live on BBC television. The last time they showed one of our games live was the FA Cup tie at home to Arsenal in 2008, and they showed our games in the same competition against Watford (away) in 2003 and Blackburn (home) in 2005. Before that it was the FA Cup Final of 1962.

This will be the first home game against North End to be televised since the 3-2 win in October 2006 when our goals came from James O'Connor, Sean St Ledger (og) and Andy Gray.
