Porter joins Daggers

Porter was a summer 2012 signing for the Clarets. He cost us a tribunal fee of £90,000 when he moved from Leyton Orient, but in his shorter time than expected at Turf Moor he didn't make a first team appearance.

He spent the second half of the 2012/13 season out on loan at Colchester and the first half of last season with AFC Wimbledon. He returned from that loan in January of this year but within days his contract had been cancelled which led to him signing a short term deal with Rochdale.

However, he started only one game for Keith Hill's team and following their promotion he wasn't offered a new deal.

The Daggers have confirmed that he has been training with them for a few weeks, has trained with the first team squad and has appeared during their pre-season programme of games.

Yesterday, manager Wayne Burnett confirmed that Porter had signed a short term contract with them until December, becoming their 11th summer signing.

Porter confirmed the deal on Twitter saying he was happy to have signed and was looking forward to the new season.
