He started April by winning both the man of the match vote and the player ratings in the draw against Spurs and has ended it the same way with his performance against Leicester last Saturday in what was our third successive 1-0 defeat.
He was certainly a clear winner in both for last Saturday's game where all the points for the top four places in both the vote and the ratings went to the goalkeeper and the back four.
Duff won 48.9% of the man of the match vote, ahead of Kieran Trippier who secured an 11% share. Ben Mee was third, just behind Trippier with 10.5% and goalkeeper Tom Heaton took fourth place with 8.7% of the vote.
Jason Shackell was the only defender to miss out on a top four place, finishing fifth, but was there for the player ratings, replacing Mee who was fifth.
Duff was again the winner with a rating of 7.16 out of 10. Heaton came second; his rating was 6.76 and just behind were both Shackell and Trippier who jointly took third place with a rating of 6.73 out of 10.
The points awarded towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year were the maximum ten for Duff, five for Trippier, four for Heaton and two each for Mee and Shackell.
That means Duff has won the April Player of the Month by some considerable distance. With just four matches played, he's won 32 points with two six pointers to add to the two maximums. He had double the 16 points won by Mee who finished in second place.
As for the player of the year, the points won by Shackell means he continues to chip away at the lead held by Danny Ings at the top of the table. That lead has now been reduced to twelve points.
