Alan Stevenson - in the latest group of players to be added
The latest group of players to be added are those who ended their Burnley careers during the first five full seasons of the 1980s - from 1980/81 to 1984/85 - and this group includes many of John Bond's signings for Burnley but also includes some future internationals and some players who had long careers with the Clarets.

Tommy Hutchison, Kevin Reeves, Steve Daley all came during the Bond era as did others, some with success and others not. Three players who started their careers at Burnley and went on to become England internationals are there, Lee Dixon, Micky Phelan and Trevor Steven. All three are still involved in the game in one way or another, Dixon is a pundit on the BBC, Phelan has a seat next to Sir Alex Ferguson on match days as first team coach at Manchester United whilst Steven, apart from his TV work, is now a registered football agent with the SFA.

The period signalled an end to Burnley for three players who were members of the first team during the last years in the top flight. Jim Thomson retired in 1981, Alan Stevenson was released after relegation at the end of the 1982/83 season whilst less than a year later Martin Dobson left Burnley to become player/manager at Bury.

They are all there, with more players and more profiles to be added soon in this comprehensive section of Burnley players. Click HERE to see the Past/Present Players section.
