Platt on trial

Nicky has joined the Cumbrians on trial and will play two reserve games this week for them, the second of them is against Wrexham tomorrow, and he did well enough, as one of three trialists alongside a strong Carlisle reserve team.

They won the game 6-0 and coach Billy Barr said all of the trialists had played OK and would all be in the side again for the second game.

Nicky has been with the Clarets for two years having previously been with the academy at Liverpool and captained the side this season during the brilliant first months of the season when we beat all before us, including the run in the FA Youth Cup which only came to an end when we played finalists Liverpool.

There was a familiar face on the opposition bench last night too, Rochdale's squad included Raphael Evans who came on as a substitute for the injured Jack Overson in the FA Youth Cup win against Fulham.
