He’s not a book happy referee by any stretch of the imagination. This season so far he has handed out just nineteen yellow cards in eleven games and in his last four games only
Those bookings have been evenly spread too with nine to home players and ten to away players. This is very similar to his record last season when he fell short of two yellow cards per game.
After faith was restored in referees by Phil Dowd on Wednesday I think we are fortunate that we have another referee who won’t want to be centre of attention tomorrow afternoon.
