Ebanks-Blake was the league's leading goalscorer with 23 goals of which he scored 11 with Plymouth and 12 with Wolves following his move to Molineux in January. But it was Phillips who came out on top after his goals helped steer West Brom back to the Premier League.
It's not the first promotion for Phillips, he was in the Sunderland side that romped away with the league in 1999 a year after he'd scored in that dramatic play off final against Charlton that ended 4-4. His 22 goals this season was one short of that Sunderland promotion although incredibly in 1999 he missed 20 games with injury and scored at just about a goal a game on his return.
Sheffield United's James Beattie also scored 22 goals in 2007/08 season and he finished joint third in the poll along with Fraizer Campbell of Hull with both of them taking 15.1% of the vote.
That leaves just one place up for grabs and that voting poll for the second striker is now underway and on the front page of the site.
The team to date is: Adriano Basso (Bristol City), Bradley Orr (Bristol City), Ryan Shawcross (Stoke), Danny Shittu (Watford), Paul Robinson (West Brom), Liam Lawrence (Stoke), Brian Howard (Barnsley), Jonathan Greening (West Brom), Joe Ledley (Cardiff) and Kevin Phillips (West Brom).
