Phil Joslin is in charge

He has already done this season what Saturday’s referee Keith Hill should have done and sent off Leicester’s Gerry Taggart. The Irish defender was sent off in Leicester’s 0-0 draw at Palace.

There has been one other red card and that was just three days ago when he had no option but to issue a red card to Walsall goalkeeper James Walker for handling outside the box in their home 3-3 draw with Preston.

In 13 games this season he has given out 32 yellow cards and Burnley beware only 10 of these have gone to home players with 22 to away team players.

He is by no means though an over officious referee and last season averaged not much more than two yellow cards per game. One of those was Ian Moore who he booked in our 3-0 defeat at Molineux just under a year ago.

His only other Burnley game was the 1-0 home win against Wycombe in December 1999. On that occasion it was two bookings per side with Stretch Armstrong and Steve Davis getting ours.

There’s been nothing controversial in either of the two games and hopefully that will continue tonight at Portman Road.
