Pearson swaps Leicester for Hull

Pearson replaced Ian Holloway at Leicester in the summer of 2008, taking over after they'd been relegated to League One. He got them promoted at the first time of asking and then led them to the Championship play offs last month.

Given the uncertainty at the club under owner Milan Mandaric he was believed to be looking for a move and has jumped at the opportunity of moving to Hull where this afternoon he has been confirmed as their new manager, replacing management consultant Iain Dowie.

Leicester coaches Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh have joined Pearson, and while they get their feet under the table at the KC Stadium, Dowie is now believed to be one of the favourites for the Leicester job.

The Midlands club will now begin their search for a new manager less than six weeks before the beginning of the new season and with Pearson having already made one summer signing with the capture of Rochdale's Tom Kennedy.
