Pawson is tonight's cup referee

Last updated : 14 January 2015 By Tony Scholes

He's done well enough in the two games this season, despite us losing them both, which is more than can be said of some of his previous Burnley games.

There was the wrongly awarded penalty in the Burton game, which turned the game in our favour, the red cards at Brighton, including Ashley Barnes, the goal given and then disallowed against Millwall.

From this season, maybe had they not gone on to win the game, the Arsenal fans wouldn't have been happy with him missing George Boyd's handball in the box that should have resulted in an Arsenal penalty.

This season he's refereed 18 games including one FA Cup tie. In the other 17 he has only once dropped below the Premier League.

He's yellow carded 60 player, 32 of which were home team players and 28 away team players. He's also sent off five players and the last two have been seriously questioned.

He dismissed Leicester's Paul Konchesky, a decision that was overturned on appeal, at Aston Villa and in his last game he sent off Sunderland's Liam Bridcutt for two yellow cards, both of which looked very harsh.

Also yellow carded in that game, against Liverpool, were Sunderland's Santiago Vergini and four Liverpool players Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and Dejan Lovren.

The assistant referees are John Brooks (Leicestershire) and Mark Scholes (Buckinghamshire). The fourth official is Stuart Attwell (Nuneaton).
