Martin Paterson
Martin Paterson came off the bench at Oakwell last Monday with the Clarets 3-0 down to score two goals and give the home side one hell of a fright as they hung on for the points.

His performance during that second half has won him maximum points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Season by winning both the Man of the Match vote and the Player Ratings on the message board, and winning both comfortably.

Such was his impact that he polled no less than 54.5% of the vote to win the man of the match and that was a long way in front of the impressive Robbie Blake who polled 13.4%. Kevin McDonald, who came on as a sub at the same time as Paterson, came third with 11.5% of the vote.

The two subs were also in the top three of the player ratings, but again Paterson was the clear winner. He scored a rating of 8.14 out of 10 to beat McDonald who came second with a rating of 7.30. Graham Alexander, back in his midfield role, came third with a rating of 7.02 out of 10.

Paterson wins six points towards the Player of the Season, McDonald gets three points, Blake two and one point for Alexander. Those points have edged Paterson closer to leader Chris McCann and he's now just four points behind the midfielder.
