Martin Paterson
Paterson, back in the side in recent weeks and in goal scoring form, turned in an excellent performance up front as the Clarets won 3-2 having stormed into a 3-0 lead inside the first eleven minutes. And it is no surprise to see that he's won both the man of the match vote and the message board's player ratings.

He polled just short of half of the man of the match vote with 49.5% whilst Stephen Jordan, another player bang in top form right now, came second with 17.0% of the vote. Joey Gudjonsson netted two of the three goals and that, alongside his performance in midfield, saw him take third place with 14.2% of the vote.

It was just about the same in the player ratings. Paterson was again the winner and he had a rating of 8.06 out of 10. Jordan was second, and his rating was 7.64, and in joint third place were Gudjonsson and Robbie Blake who both had a rating of 6.61.

That gives Pato six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Season, Jordan gets four votes, there are two for Gudjonsson and one for Blake.

The points see Paterson extend his lead at the top to seven points whilst Jordan has now moved into fifth place ahead of Graham Alexander and Brian Jensen.
