Paterson again

The features of our win at Gigg Lane were Paterson's two goals and the clean sheet we kept, important after the goal bonanza for Sheffield Wednesday three days earlier. And that is reflected in both the man of the match vote and the player ratings on the message board.

It's the same top three in both and again Pato is the clear winner of both. It wasn't quite the 70% he picked up from the Wednesday game but he claimed 64.0% of the vote to take top place in the man of the match poll.

Brian Jensen, back in goal for this game, took almost half of the rest of the vote with 17.4% whilst 7.7% of the vote ensured Stephen Jordan, playing in the centre of the defence alongside Steven Caldwell, took third place.

It was very much a case of 'same again' on our player ratings thread on the message board. Paterson was a clear winner with an average rating of 8.59 out of 10 and that was some way clear of Jensen who was second with a rating of 7.50.

Jordan, considered by many to be the best defender in Saturday's debacle, took third place again with a rating of 7.12 out of 10.

It meant six more points for Paterson, four for Jensen and two for Jordan and the current table towards our Player of the Season is as follows.

12: Martin Paterson
4: Chris Eagles, Brian Jensen
3: Stephen Jordan
1: Robbie Blake
