Parkinson next to win place in team

There was never any doubt who was going to get the right back berth, Parkinson had led right from the beginning of the voting. The vote closed on Friday night and by then he had polled over 45% of that vote which took him over 20% clear of Dean West who finished second.

Current full back Michael Duff was third with less than 15% whilst the rest were just also rans in the three day vote.

Parkinson spent just over three years with the Clarets after signing from Bolton in January 1994 and he ended that season by scoring the winning goal at Wembley in our play off final against Stockport.

But it is his last two seasons at Burnley that come within the ten year period and he was certainly on top form in the second of those two seasons and won a place in the PFA 2nd Division team for that season.

It is the left back position we move on to next with the poll starting on Sunday. Will it again be a player from the mid 1990s or will we see a more recent Claret fill that particular place?
