Papadopoulos left out

Contrary to reports elsewhere Greek coach Andrea Michalopoulos was anything but pleased about the performance of his side against Belgium and neither was he pleased with the performance of the Burnley striker who, apart from one shot at goal, made virtually no impact.

Michalopoulos made four changes for last night's game and Dimitri was one of the four left out. Another to find himself out of the starting line up was Arsenal defender Stathis Tavlaridis who was a Burnley target last summer.

This time Greece were beaten 3-1, after the 2-1 defeat against Belgium, and again their goal came as a late consolation. It was defender Patsatzoglou on this occasion who curled a free kick round the wall from 25 yards out.

It looked as though the changes made no difference although once again they had lots of possession with some good build up play. Their strike force though has been described as toothless in this competition. They now have just the one game left against the Czech Republic to restore some pride and hopefully Dimitri will play and score his first under 21 goal that is not against England.
