Dimitri Papadopoulos - three goals for the Greeks
Playing for the Greek Under-21s against Northern Ireland he was watched by former Burnley and Northern Ireland striker Billy Hamilton and didn’t disappoint in a game the Greeks won by six goals to two.

He scored his first just before half time to give his side a 3-1 interval lead. They went 4-1 up shortly afterwards before the Irish pulled one back from the penalty spot.

Papadopoulos then converted a penalty himself before completing his hat-trick and the scoring.

He is certainly not the first Burnley player to score a hat-trick for his country. Jack Yates hit three for England in his only full international appearance in 1889. Yates was the first to achieve it.

Congratulations to Dimitri on tonight’s achievement.
