Owen Coyle makes top fifty for Christmas

The League One club dispensed of the services of McAllister after a run of five consecutive defeats and yesterday approached Blackpool for permission to speak to Grayson. That was immediately turned down by chairman Karl Oysten who presumably thought that was the end of the matter.

But Grayson wanted the move and at 8:30 this morning tendered his resignation at the half a ground club and was soon afterwards confirmed as the new League One Leeds manager. However, the Seasiders have not accepted his resignation and not only that are now considering legal action against both Grayson and League One Leeds.

No matter what happens from now there is no doubt that Grayson's time at Blackpool is over just over three years after he was appointed as Colin Hendry's replacement.

What's that got to do with Owen Coyle and the top fifty? With Grayson's departure he's moved up one place in the list of longest serving managers and that has taken him to fiftieth place, just thirteen months after becoming the Clarets' boss.
