Ian Moore - back after starting the season suspended
Burnley will be able to welcome back Ian Moore after he has completed his three match suspension and with Gareth Taylor still some way from being able to play again (if indeed he is to play again in a Burnley shirt) it is indeed some relief to see the silver quick striker back and able to play again.

But just as Mooro returns we have lost Lee Roche, certainly for this weekend’s two games, with the hamstring injury that forced him our of the defeat at West Brom last week.

Dean West will certainly be the replacement for Roche whilst Moore is certain to step straight back into the starting line up. Given the attack on his namesake Alan last week from the manager it is likely that he will be the one to miss out when we kick off against newly promoted Wigan.

Having fielded four debutants in the last home game against Palace there will be one more when David May makes his first Turf Moor appearance since signing for the Clarets just over a week ago.

I expect us to line up: Brian Jensen, Dean West, David May, Graham Branch, Mo Camara, Luke Chadwick, Paul Weller, Tony Grant, Glen Little, Ian Moore, Robbie Blake. Subs: Paul Scott, Arthur Gnohere, Richard Chaplow, Matt O’Neill, Alan Moore.

There’s been good news for Wigan this week with a return to training for their record signing Nathan Ellington whilst they have also brought in Portsmouth striker Mark Burchill on loan. Burchill is expected to start whilst Ellington could be considered ready for the bench.

Manager Paul Jewell is pleased to have a stronger squad to choose from than in previous games this season and said of his striker situation,

"Burchill will play a fair part on Saturday while we will see how Ellington is on Friday after a week of training before deciding whether he is fit enough for a place in the match day squad itself."

On the game itself he added, "It’s one of those matches that everyone looks forward to as there will be a big crowd and I am sure we’ll have excellent travelling support over there. Burnley are a big club with a passionate support but we know what to expect so nothing will surprise us from that point of view."

Burchill and Ellington will be added to the squad that was involved in the draw with Preston last Saturday and Jewell will select from:

John Filan, Steve McMillan, Ian Breckin, Nicky Eaden, Matt Jackson, Peter Kennedy, Paul Mitchell, Jimmy Bullard, Jason Jarrett, Lee McCulloch, Andy Liddle, Neil Roberts, Gary Teale, Magno Silva Vieira, Tony Dinning, Nathan Ellington, Mark Burchill, Gary Walsh.
