One game for McCann

The first of the three games was played last Friday and Chris was in the starting line up as they took on the hosts – but things didn't go too well for him or his team. Ireland twice came from behind but eventually lost the game 3-2 with a goal fifteen minutes from the end.

And five minutes after that winner, McCann was substituted after a collision left him with concussion and he was replaced by Stephen Gleeson of Wolves.

That left him unavailable for the other two games and when they lost the first of those two games, against Turkey on Sunday, it ensure they would not go to the finals in July.

Their third, and last game, against Georgia is being played this morning and there is a familiar name in the line up, last season's reserve team captain Martin Reilly has started the game.
