On this day

Adrian Heath - scored two goals for the Clarets nine years ago today
Although the 3rd April hasn't been the most successful days for the Clarets over the years when only six league games have been won one of them is against our nearest rivals.

Our biggest win on this day was a 6-1 home win against Oldham Athletic in 1931 and in 1965 we even beat Wolves. That was a 2-1 victory at Molineux with the Burnley scorers Andy Lochhead and Les Latcham.

In 1982 Billy Hamilton scored two and Kevin Young added a third in a home match against Reading in front of the television cameras and our last win on this date was nine years ago when we beat Hartlepool United 3-0 at home with two goals from Adrian Heath and one from Steve Davis.

You can find all this information by clicking on our new feature On This Day which can be found in the Statistics section. Alternatively it can be found by clicking ‘View full list' inside the green ‘On This Day' on the right hand side.

Alongside each of the list of games you can see the league table at the time by clicking on ‘View Table' or you can see all the results for that day by clicking on ‘View Results' both of which can be found the the right of the result.

The page will automatically change each day and today you can check out each of the 23 league games we have played on 3rd April.
