On our travels again if we get through

Kevin McDonald - scored the goals in the Carling Cup win against Arsenal
The Clarets number 11 was the last out of the bag and drawn by Gary Mabbutt in this afternoon's draw.

Should it be Arsenal it will be a third meeting with them in just over a year. We lost to them in last season's FA Cup 2-0 in the third round, but of course beat them just last month in the Carling Cup to set up our semi-final date with Spurs. That night Kevin McDonald scored our two goals.

Both of those games were played at the Turf. We haven't played an away game against Arsenal since December 1975.

For Cardiff we have to look a little further back for our last FA Cup meeting, in fact our only FA Cup meeting with the Welsh club. That came in the 1925/26 season. We drew 2-2 at Cardiff with two George Beel goals but lost the replay 2-0 at the Turf.

As for this season, before we can even start thinking of either Cardiff or Arsenal we have to play West Brom again with the replay date still to be confirmed, although the likely date is Tuesday 3rd February meaning the postponement of our league game against Coventry City.

The full draw is;

Sheffield Utd v Hull
Watford v Chelsea
West Ham v Middlesbrough
Sunderland or Blackburn v Coventry
Derby or Nottingham Forest v Manchester Utd
Swansea v Fulham
Liverpool or Everton v Doncaster or Aston Villa
Cardiff or Arsenal v West Brom or Burnley
