Olivier is referee

Last updated : 07 April 2006 By Tony Scholes

He was the referee that Stan Ternent slammed as incompetent after a defeat at Watford three seasons ago, he sent off Mark McGregor that day, but certainly his last three Burnley games have brought no problems at all.

He’s refereed them sensibly and allowed the players to get on and play football, not something we did particularly well the last time he refereed one of our games, that was at Gillingham towards the end of last season and we hardly played well.

This season he’s taken charge of three games, one in the Championship and two in League One, and has given out a total of eleven yellow cards. If there is a concern it is that only two of those yellow cards have gone to home team players with the other nine going to away teams.

The assistant referees at Reading are Brendan Malone (Wiltshire) and Ian Scarr (West Midlands) and Steve Tomlinson (Hampshire) will act as the fourth official.
