O'Connor set to stay on south coast

O'Connor was placed on the transfer list just a few days after the end of the 2006/07 season, a season when he failed to start a single game for the Clarets, and he hardly did his chances of changing Steve Cotterill's mind with an article in an Irish newspaper during the summer.

A week after our pre-season started it was revealed that he would be training with Bournemouth with a view to joining them on loan. Injury caused him to miss some of the training but he's been fit recently and has taken part in their most recent games.

He's now set to return to the club he left to join Burnley in a loan deal for the first half of the season. He has just one year remaining on his contract with the Clarets and it is unlikely we would stand in his way come January if he decided to sign for Bournemouth on a permanent basis.
