O'Connor returns in deadline day deal

O’Connor arrived at the Turf on a three month loan spell at the end of October and made his debut in the 3-0 defeat at QPR, coming on as a substitute for Graham Branch after just nineteen minutes.

His full debut came four days later against Leeds in the 2-1 win at Elland Road and he went on to play in another eleven league matches for the Clarets which ended in the 2-0 defeat at Cardiff which brought his three month loan period to an end.

In those twelve league starts he helped the Clarets to seven victories, the last of which coming at his old club Stoke City at the beginning of the year. That having been roundly booed by his old supporters throughout the game.

He made no secret of the fact that he had enjoyed his time at Burnley and it comes as no real surprise to see him back.

The 25 year-old midfielder has cost us a fee of £175,000 and he’s signed a deal that will keep him at Turf Moor until the end of the 2007/08 season.

Welcome back to Turf Moor.
