O'Connor was released by the Clarets during the summer after failing to start a game during his last two seasons at the club, although he did feature in the Bournemouth side whilst on loan there during the early part of last season.

Garreth initially joined Burnley in May 2005 on the same day as his former Bournemouth team mate Wade Elliott. He signed a three year deal and in the first half of his first season made an impact in the first team before falling out of favour with then manager Steve Cotterill.

Although given a squad number by Owen Coyle, his only appearance was as a stoppage time substitute in the home win over Scunthorpe and it was no surprise when he was released. There were rumours of a move to Doncaster, but that confusion was caused by the fact they were signing John Spicer.

Whether his trial is extended beyond that game remains to be seen. The official Yeovil site suggested that manager Russell Slade might be interested in taking an extended look at four of them whilst a fifth was described as having had a steady and reliable afternoon.
