O'Connor and Spicer in demand

John Spicer
John Spicer - he and Garreth O'Connor are attracting interest from Doncaster
It was no surprise with either of them when Owen Coyle announced they wouldn't be offered new deals. Spicer had started just one game under the new manager, and he was sent off in that game at Ipswich, whilst O'Connor managed just one minute of football as a late substitute in the home win against Scunthorpe.

But newly promoted Doncaster Rovers have shown an interest in both players and it would not come as a surprise if one or both of them joined up with their former Bournemouth boss Sean O'Driscoll who already has another of that Bournemouth midfield in Brian Stock at the Keepmoat Stadium.

It was always thought Spicer might be a target and news has surfaced in the last twenty four hours that he's one of the players O'Driscoll is interested and he could make a move soon. It has gone past interest with O'Connor and it is believed they have already had talks, but Doncaster certainly have competition for him with both League One Leeds and relegated Leicester believed to have shown a keen interest.

Of the other two players to have left the club there is no further news. There were strong rumours that James O'Connor was signing for Sheffield Wednesday but if that's the case it hasn't been confirmed yet and there's been no news at all regarding Jon Harley.
