Not a good night for our internationals

David Edgar was the only starter. He played in Canada's game against Panama in Panama City as they fell to a 2-0 defeat and in doing so handed first place in the table to their victors who are now two points clear.

The Canadians have now fallen behind Honduras too and are currently third in the four team table meaning their games against Honduras and Cuba next month are vital regarding their chances of making the next round and a potential place in the finals in Brazil 2014.

It's a similar situation for Jamaica. They are third in their group with the top three, with Guatemala and USA, all on seven points from their first four games. That's the result of their 1-0 defeat to the Americans last night at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Dane Richards made his 39th appearance for Jamaica in the game, and his first since it was announced he would be joining Burnley in January next year. He came on as a substitute for Omar Cummings with 14 minutes of the game remaining.

There was no cap for Sam Vokes who was named as a substitute for Wales in their game against Serbia. I bet he was pleased not to get on too as the struggling Welsh took a 6-1 hammering with Gareth Bale getting their solitary goal.

Former Claret Kyle Lafferty played the full 90 minutes for Northern Ireland in their 1-1 draw against Luxembourg at Windsor Park and two other former Clarets, Gary Cahill and Gabor Kiraly, were unused subs for England and Hungary respectively.

The INTERNATIONALS section, found in the Players drop down, has now been updated.
