NO'Connor

Garreth O'Connor
O'Connor was coming to the end of his three year contract but has been released early to give him a head start in looking elsewhere for a new deal. The decision can come as no surprise given that he hasn't started a game for the Clarets in the last two seasons.

On breaking the news Coyle said: "It's unfortunate for Garreth that it's never worked out and we wish him well. He has worked hard during my time here and just never got a chance."

He joined us from Bournemouth in May 2005 along with Wade Elliott and did well in his first few months for the club before losing his place in the side. He had a short loan spell at Bournemouth at the beginning of this season after being placed on the transfer list by previous manager Steve Cotterill.

He becomes the first player to be released by Coyle and it leaves us with five other players coming to the end of their current contracts and waiting for news on whether there will be a new offer on the table. They are Brian Jensen, Jon Harley, David Unsworth, James O'Connor and John Spicer.
