No Sun for the Clarets

It probably won't last too long so we should make the most of it, and there'll also be no Sun for the Clarets next season with manager Owen Coyle dismissing the link with Manchester City defender Sun Jihai that surfaced in the tabloids yesterday.

According to the speculation yesterday the Chinese international defender had already had preliminary talks with Burnley but that is simply not the case and neither are there any talks planned. It seems that he is not one of the players on Coyle's shopping list.

Wherever he does go he certainly didn't have the best of farewells yesterday when he lined up at full back for a Manchester City side who were well and truly hammered 8-1 by Middlesbrough becoming the first side to concede so many goals in the top division since Newcastle beat Sheffield Wednesday 8-0 in 1999.

Although Sun Jihai won't be joining the Clarets, it is thought one of the players offered a new deal has agreed it and will be signing on the dotted line soon.
