No role for Davis at Wigan

Sandy Stewart is back with Coyle

As expected his number two will be Sandy Stewart. He's worked alongside Coyle at St. Johnstone, Burnley and Bolton. And another two who made the journey from Turf Moor to the Reebok will also be pitching up at Wigan.

They are goalkeeping coach Phil Hughes and Andy Mitchell who recently lost his position as Bolton physiotherapist to another former Burnley physio Mark Leather.

Coyle has taken on one further member of staff with James Barrow, who played for Burnley as a youngster and, like the others, worked at Bolton, joining the medical team as strength and conditioning coach.

However, there is no position for Steve Davis who Clarets Mad understands is currently carrying out scouting work for Fleetwood. He's worked as first team coach for Coyle at Both Burnley and Bolton but that position at Wigan remains with Graham Barrow allowing him the opportunity to work with his son James.

Likewise, John Henry won't be in charge of Wigan's development squad. Dennis Lawrence, the former Wrexham, Swansea and Trinidad & Tobago central defender, will continue in that role.
