It will be a new kit for both home and away, the club have now said that they will be changing them every year, and this has been the case since the 1999/2000 season. There has been no indication from the club as to what the kits will be like although the home kit is expected to have a traditional look.

The deal that saw Super League manufacture the kit for the past three seasons is now ended and a number of companies have shown more than an interest in winning the contract for the next few seasons.

As yet there has been no news from Turf Moor on that although we can reveal that the kit will be manufactured by TFG Sports (The Fielding Group). That is not a change to last season, TFG are now the parent company of Super League and they have once again won the contract. In fact Burnley were the only club to continue to wear the Super League logo last season.

Burnley's will be one of nine English clubs to wear TFG kit next season, the others being Blackpool, Bournemouth, Brentford, Bristol City, Hartlepool United, Oxford United, Scunthorpe United and Torquay United. They will also be supplying nine Scottish clubs.

One other thing for certain is that Lanway will be on the front of the shirts having signed a two year deal but other than that there is no official news. There are likely to be three kits this season, home and away and a third kit to commemorate the club's 120th anniversary.

Clarets Mad did forward some suggestions and these were definitely taken on board by the club as Chief Executive Andrew Watson referred to them in the match programme. Whether we will get our claret and blue hooped socks back in the home kit though remains to be seen.

Last year the 2001/02 kit was revealed on 12th June after a deal with Lanway was rushed through. With no kit sponsorship deal to tie in with the official news this time could come sooner.
