No new injury problems for Grimsby

Ian Cox - fit for tonight's game
The main doubt was Coxy who came off after picking up both leg and head injuries but he has reported fit and will travel with a squad that is now just without Alan Moore.

Stan will have to decide whether to start with the system that has served us well recently or whether to return to the 4-4-2 system that he reverted to on Saturday and this will determine the starting eleven.

I suspect he will use the 4-4-2 system and that will probably mean Ian Moore missing out although he has been playing very well recently, particularly at Ipswich where he was outstanding. Other than that I don’t see us making any other changes to the squad.

The line up should we go 4-4-2 will be: Marlon Beresford, Dean West, Ian Cox, Arthur Gnohere, Graham Branch, Glen Little, Paul Weller, Steve Davis, Lee Briscoe, Robbie Blake, Gareth Taylor. Subs: Paul Cook, Tony Grant, Brad Maylett, Ian Moore, Dimitri Papadopoulos.

Grimsby though do have problems and will be without three central defenders tonight in manager Paul Groves, Steve Chettle and John McDermott. Things are not a lot better in midfield where Alan Pouton is doubtful and George Santos is now unavailable with his short term contract having come to an end. He needed to sign a new one before yesterday’s deadline and this didn’t happen. Santos’ place will be taken by Stacy Coldicott.

Terry Cooke is expected to return after being left out recently and we need to beware of him, he has previously had good games against us for both Manchester City and Grimsby, whilst former Blackburn striker Steve Livingstone will line up in attack as he comes back from a fractured jaw sustained earlier in the season against Derby.

They are expected to name the following side: Danny Coyne, Iain Ward, Simon Ford, Paul Raven, Tony Gallimore, Stuart Campbell, Stacy Coldicott, Terry Cooke, Darren Barnard, Steve Livingstone, Steve Kabba. Subs from: Shaun Allaway, Paul Robinson, Wes Parker, Darren Mansaram, Jonathan Rowen, Chris Bolder, Greg Young.
