No long term commitment to York

That was contrary to other reports that suggested two or even three months and even the possibility of a permanent move. That has all been cleared up today though by Marlon himself. He has signed for one month and he still hopes to play for the Clarets sometime soon but just now we cannot afford to offer him anything.

So Marlon will play for York and Burnley will have no sub keeper on Saturday and that is something Stan is reported to be worried about. He shouldn't be though, he has done it often enough.

Last season he had no sub goalkeeper after Nik Michopoulos got injured at Cheltenham until the end of the season apart from a period when Nik was fit again and Marlon was still here. In the previous season it was the same until Michopoulos arrived with Crichton in goal.

The 1999/2000 season saw us play all season with no sub goalkeeper, not in any matches at all was one of our subs a keeper and that situation didn’t seem to bother Stan. It was widely thought that Ronnie Jepson would go in goal on the occasions he was on the bench.

It does look as though Gordon Armstrong will be one of the five subs this week, unless he is in the starting line up, apparently Stretch fancies the idea of playing in goal more than the other players.
