No Heckingbottom for Burnley

His name has constantly been linked since but today any chance of him arriving at Turf Moor came to and end when he signed for our First Division rivals Norwich City. The Canaries first choice left back was thought to be Scunthorpe's Andrew Dawson, they had made an offer for him during last season. Dawson, like Heckingbottom, is now available on a Bosman but it was the Darlington man that Nigel Worthington finally made a move for.

The speculation has been somewhat quiet this summer and Heckingbottom was one of the strongest of rumours. The major speculation now though is that we are unlikely to make any signings at all other than the possibility of a young goalkeeper to act as cover for Nik Michopoulos.
