No Clarets in PFA Team

Baggies keeper Russell Hoult in the team
Last season all but one of the places in the team went to players from the top two clubs and
this season eight of the eleven play for one of the top three clubs and three from other clubs and that means six clubs are represented.

Manchester City and West Brom lead the way with three players each and it is no surprise that the three West Brom players are defenders and Manchester City provide two attacking midfielders and a striker.

It looks a formidable line up and it is difficult to disagree with any of the selections although the midfield does look very attack minded.

lt is difficult to see how any Burnley player could have forced their way into the team but I wonder just how many of our players would have been in contention had the nominations gone in around early December.

The team is:

Russell Hoult (West Bromwich Albion)
Graham Alexander (Preston North End)
Neil Clement (West Bromwich Albion)
Darren Moore (West Bromwich Albion)
Joleon Lescott (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Eyal Berkovic (Manchester City)
Mark Kennedy (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
Ali Benarbia (Manchester City)
Shaun Goater (Manchester City)
Robert Prosinecki (Portsmouth)
Dougie Freedman (Crystal Palace).
